Infamous Us Presidential Controversies That Changed History
Bill Clinton Part One
Allegations of sexual misconduct against Bill Clinton first emerged during the 1992 presidential campaign, when Gennifer Flowers alleged that she and the then-presidential candidate engaged in a 17-year extramarital affair. Clinton initially denied Flowers’ claims, but the accusation followed him through his first term as president.
Shortly into his second term, accusations arose that Clinton had engaged in a sexual relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Clinton once again denied the allegations — initially. However, evidence accumulated by special prosecutor Kenneth Starr revealed that Clinton lied under oath, leading to his admission that he had sexual relations with both Lewinsky and Flowers.
Clinton was impeached however, he won his case in the Senate.
