Pam Grier and Juanita Brown were actresses who played in movies like "The Big Bird Cage," "Coffy," "Foxy Brown," "Caged Heat," "Willie Dynamite," and "Sheba, Baby." The blaxploitation (exploitation of blacks) movie "Black Starlet" portrays Juanita Brown as "Clara" who is from the housing projects of Gary, Indiana that goes to Hollywood wanting to become famous as a star. What she gets instead is robbed, betrayed and used. While working on the movie, "Coffy," Pam Grier had met and fallen in love with Freddie Prinze but just a few years later, in 1977, due to depression and drug issues, shot and killed himself.
