Helen Mirren performance in Shakespeare's "Troilus and Cressida" - Royal Shakespeare Theatre (1968)

Starting her career off with the Royal Shakespeare Company,"Troilus and Cressida" was Helen Mirren's fourth production with them. Her role as Cressida was her third Shakespearean lead role. The character of Cressida begins as a juvenile who is basically a tease to Troilus at first, then is devoted to him, and later rejects him for another. The scene is during the seventh year of the Trojan War. There were mixed reviews among the critics. Basically, they were impressed with Helen's performance but not so enthused about the production itself. They felt the producer did not really bring out Helen's potential in this one.
