The Infamous Dale Earnhardt Sr and his 1976 (one-race-only) #30 car

The most popular race car driver in the history of Nascar was Dale Earnhardt Sr. Shown in this picture with his #30 car that he only drove for one race, which was in Charlotte. Beginning his racing career in 1975, at the age of 24, he became known as "The Intimidator," as he proceeded to win seven Winston Cup Championships. It was as if he was "unstoppable" until that fateful day on February 18, 2001, during the Daytona 500, when he was killed in a three-car crash on the final lap. It was a very sad day in Nascar that day and even for those who were not racing fans. That was an unforgettable day!
